Standard (B2B) invoices: cleared by the NBR before the customer gets them
Detailed invoices between VAT-registered businesses follow the clearance model. The NBR platform checks each one and adds its cryptographic stamp and QR code. Only then do you share it with the customer.
The clearance cycle
- You create the invoice with full buyer details, including the buyer VAT number where the buyer has one.
- Your solution sends it to the NBR platform in real time.
- The NBR validates it against the approved specifications and returns the cleared invoice with its stamp and QR code.
- You share the cleared invoice with the buyer, who can verify it.
Credit notes and debit notes
A credit or debit note follows the same structure as the invoice it adjusts, and is cleared the same way. E-invoicebh supports tax invoices, credit notes, debit notes and prepayment invoices.
Checks before anything is sent
- Mandatory fields, code lists and the Bahrain business rules.
- Exact decimal VAT arithmetic to three decimals, checked the way the NBR validator does.
- Review and approval by a second person where your policy requires it.
- A dry run that shows the NBR message for an invoice before you send it.
Safe against double sending
Retries use an idempotency key, so the same sale cannot create two invoices. An invoice whose outcome is uncertain is held and resolved by a person with evidence, never sent again blindly.
